Job 20:4-7
4 "Surely you know how it has been from of old, ever since man was placed on the earth,
5 that the mirth of the wicked is brief, the joy of the godless lasts but a moment.
6 Though his pride reaches to the heavens and his head touches the clouds,
7 he will perish forever, like his own dung; those who have seen him will say, 'Where is he?'
“He will perish like his own dung.” Now, isn’t that a pretty visual? And then he will not be recognized by those who know him. Pride is SO nasty. Pride can make me feel so strong, so powerful, but is only lasts but a moment. And it will make me perish FOREVER. And forever is a long time, last I looked. This looks like a short QT, but I am also going to be digging on some other things today… very much busy in the word today. I had some thoughts this morning, and last night, as well, so I have to answer the questions in my mind.

Good morning brothers, how is everyone this morning? I am fired up and really happy yo have great friends and an awesome father that loves me eventhough I may stumble sometimes. As for email yesterday, I got open sought advice made some changes and repented and I am indignet to that sin and I do not want to return to that vomit as Proverbs 26:11 states and I do not to be the full who repeats the folly. Guys thank you so much for your prayers and calls and emails. We had a great midweek last night at the building and it was really uplifting. We paryed and sang songs to God for the victims of the hurricane. Wow we have so much to be grateful for and so much praise is to be given to God for all that he does and the protection that we have through Him. I love all of you and I pray that all of you has a great and God bless.
Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, the comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You annoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the hous eof the Lord forever.
In conversion the sinner turn from unbelief to faith, from impenitence
to penitence, and by being baptized into Christ he is translated from the world into the church of the Lord. He is induced to turn by the power of the gospel. Let us examine the turning of the eunuch in Acts 8:26-39.
While Philip was preaching at Samaria, "And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza,... And he arose and went: ... a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians,... Was returning, (from Jerusalem) and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet....(Philip asked) Understandest thou what thou readest? And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him... And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man? Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus. And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him. And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing."
Notice the things that took place in this conversion: Philip
preached `Jesus` to the eunuch. The preaching produced faith. The eunuch requested baptism, and was baptized. The eunuch rejoiced in his salvation. No frightening stores were related to arouse the emotions of the eunuch. The simple story of Jesus and His love was preached to him. When the eunuch asked what hindered his being baptized, he was not told to "pray through." or to wait until he had "an experience of grace" or until the church could vote on his request for membership. But he was forthwith baptized because he was a believer. In being baptized, both
Philip and eunuch went down into the water and the baptism took place while they were both in the water.The eunuch rejoiced after his baptism, for he knew that Jesus had said: "He who believes and is baptized shall be saved" (Mark 16:16) How simple it is to turn to Christ and become just a Christian!
I liked the old paths, when....,
Moms were at home.
Dads were at work.
Brothers went into the army.
And sisters got married BEFORE having children!
Crime did not pay;
Hard work did;
And people knew the difference.
Moms could cook;
Dads would work;
Children would behave.
Husbands were loving;
Wives were supportive;
And children were polite.
Women wore the jewelry;
And Men wore the pants.
Women looked like ladies;
Men looked like gentlemen;
And children were clean and decent.
People loved the truth,
And hated a lie;
They came to church to get IN,
Not to get OUT!
Hymns sounded Godly;
Sermons sounded helpful;
Rejoicing sounded normal;
And crying sounded sincere.
Cursing was wicked;
Drinking was evil;
and divorce was unthinkable.
The flag was honored;
America was beautiful;
And God was welcome!
We read the Bible in public;
Prayed in school;
And preached from house to house
To be called an American was worth dying for;
To be called a Christian was worth living for;
To be called a traitor was a shame!
Sex was a personal word.
Homosexual was an unheard of word,
And abortion was an illegal word.
Preachers preached because they had a message;
And Christians rejoiced because they had the VICTORY!
Preachers preached from the Bible;
Singers sang from the heart;
And sinners turned to the Lord for their Saviour!
A new birth meant a new life;
Salvation meant a changed life;
Following Christ led to eternal life.
Being a preacher meant you proclaimed the word of God;
Being a deacon meant you would serve the Lord;
Being a Christian meant you would live for Jesus;
And being a sinner meant someone was praying for you!
Laws were based on the Bible;
Homes read the Bible;
And churches taught the Bible.
Preachers were more interested in new converts,
Than a mega-church with a big fat salary
Or some new clothes and new cars.
God was worshiped;
Christ was exalted;
and the Holy Spirit was respected.
Assemblies was where you found Christians on the Lord's Day,
Rather than in the garden, on the creek bank, on the golf course,
Or being entertained somewhere else.
I still like the old paths the best....!
