Entrusting: Part VI

Entrust (verb):
  • To give over (something) to another for care, protection, or performance.
  • To give as a trust to (someone).
  • To charge or invest with a trust or responsibility; charge with a specified office or duty involving trust.
  • To commit (something) in trust to; confide, as for care, use, or performance.
The Fruit of Entrustment
Peter: The Coward -
  • Jerome saith that he {Peter} was crucified, his head being down and his feet upward, himself so requiring, because he was (he said) unworthy to be crucified after the same form and manner as the Lord was. (Foxe’s Book of Martyrs)

Paul: The Pharisee -

  • Paul, the apostle, who before was called Saul, after his great travail and unspeakable labors in promoting the Gospel of Christ, suffered also in this first persecution under Nero…….the soldiers came and led him out of the city to the place of execution, where he, after his prayers made, gave his neck to the sword. Thomas: The Doubter -

  • St. Isidore of Seville in Spain (d. c. 630)
  • St. Isidore of Seville testimony : “This Thomas preached the Gospel of Christ to the Parthians, the Medes, the Persians, the Hyrcanians and the Bactrians, and to the Indians of the Oriental region and penetrating the innermost regions and sealing his preaching by his passion he died transfixed with a lance at Calamina, a city of India, and there was buried with honour”.

The Death of James the Brother of Jesus -

  • He was elected to the oversight of the churches of Jerusalem; and was the author of the Epistle ascribed to James in the sacred canon. At the age of ninety-four he was beat and stoned by the Jews; and finally had his brains dashed out with a fuller's club. (Foxe’s Book of Martyrs)

  • Cowards
  • Deserters
  • By Standers
  • Misery and self pity.
  • Apathetic
  • Saving self
  • Alive in Self
  • Could not die to Self

Transformation To:

  • Courage
  • Denouncers of Sin
  • Bible Preachers
  • Missionaries
  • Ambassadors of change
  • Saving Thousands
  • Already Dead
  • Died Gruesome Deaths
Apostolic Fruit:
But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop. (Luke 8:15)
