- Jealous: - jealous.
- Jealous (only of God)
I'll be honest here... I am not getting it right now.
Jealous: qânâ' (pronounced: kaw-naw')
- To be (causatively make) zealous, that is, (in a bad sense) jealous or envious: - (be) envy (envious), be (move to, provoke to) jealous (jealousy), very, (be) zeal (zealous).
- to envy, be jealous, be envious, be zealous; (to be jealous of); (to be envious of); (to be zealous for); (to excite to jealous anger); to provoke to jealous anger, cause jealousy
The second jealous sheds some light on what jealousy is right and wrong. If I am jealous, a Godly jealous, then I work hard to defend my God. What that means, I think, is that I want to make sure God is glorified. And I won't stand for mistreatment of Gods people... maybe that is close. I haven't wrapped my head around it, so I am a bit iffy on the whole thing. I know the second jealous is the kind that is actually envious. It would be more of a self-focus instead of a Godly focus. I might add a third part tomorrow is I come with some sort of revelation on this whole thing. It would be a good idea, anyway. Johnny Out.
