When I am in my pride, I mock. I taunt others. This is probably the biggest character flaw I still have, at least that I know about. I go to excessive levels of taunting. I beat a dead horse to the absolute grave. I noticed this about a month ago, and I am working on this, it still flares up from time to time, but I know I am making progress. My mocking is mostly the ridicule or jeer type mocking. I jab at someone to a highly excessive level. It’s just wrong. It’s sin, pure and simple. To take the high ground, I need to go low. I need to take the low position. Granted, I don’t need to let myself be walked over, that’s not humility. But the more I study this pride thing out, the more I think about how Jesus, in a way, did let that happen, at least on everything but the topic of God, children, and the church. Everything else, he dealt with a lowly manner. When I included the definitions of low, I there were so many, I think that I can get myself confused as to which lowly I am supposed to use. They are all not bad to look at, and I think in a way, they can all apply to what the scripture is saying. “A man's pride brings him death, but a man humble in status or character gains honor.” This was something I saw when I was looking at the definitions… I could sit here all day and play with the definitions. I don’t know. It’s just something that really makes me think of my walk with God and just another way I make an improvement to be closer to him. Johnny Out.

P.S. Happy Birthday Marvin. I wanted to be at your party but too many responsibilities kept us from it. Happy 40th Birthday, I hope and pray for many more for you, your wife, and especially for your children.
