Reflections from the QTs in Jamaica (Tuesday)

Tuesday: Topic: Contempt in Boasting & Blameshifting

Scripture: (for blameshifting)
Genesis 3:12 The man said, "The woman you put here with me—she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it."

(For Boasting)
Proverbs 27:1 Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth.

Ephesians 4:29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

Two topics... very well, let's start with blameshifting. First, Adam didn't take responsibility for his actions, he put it on the woman. Then, in turn, the woman shifts it over to the snake. Classic. No one wants to look bad, of course. But alas. Adam says this woman you made me is diffective, another thing, she made me do it! And lastly, I did take a bite. Finally, he takes some ownership, admitting fault. But only after he elevated himself.

Boasting... boasting in things not of God. We do not know of tomorrow and what it will bring. We aren't even gauranteed the next passing minute. When will the end of the world be? "God only knows." If I stay focused on boasting godly things, blessings and whatnot, as well as lifting up others, I will be safe. I will be pleasing God. That's what I want to do. Johnny Out.
